Lieutenant Colonel Wilton C. Jackson LTC Wilton C. Jackson was a Distinguished Military Graduate following his graduation from Jackson State University. His military schools include Infantry Officer Basic (IOBC), Infantry Officer Advance Course, Airborne School, Jumpmaster School and Functional Area 45 Comptroller course and CGSC. As a Lieutenant, he was assigned to the 4th Battalion 6th Infantry and later the 6th Battalion 502nd Infantry, Berlin, Germany where he served as Rifle Platoon Leader, Mortar Platoon Leader and Company Executive Officer from 1983 to 1986. After completing the Infantry Officer Advanced Course he was assigned as Assistant Operations Officer 3d Battalion 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was then assigned as the Company Commander for Delta Company, 3d Bn 504th PIR, 1st Brigade 82nd Airborne Division. Upon completion of command he served as the Battalion Logistics Officer. |
| He was then assigned to the XVIII Corps as the Chief of Unit Training. He completed his assignment at Fort Bragg and at the 82nd Airborne Division and XVIII Airborne Corps he was reassigned to the Third Reserve Army Officers Training Corps (ROTC) Jackson State University, Jackson, MS. He left active duty in 1994 and entered into the Individual Ready Reserve. After two years in the IRR was assigned to the 3d Brigade 87th Division. As a member of the 3d Brigade, he has served in a variety of Observer/Controller (0C/T) and Operations Officer. In January 2004 was selected to be the first Reserve Component Collation Military Assistance Team (CMAT) to train the 1st Battalion of the New Iraqi Army. After returning from Iraq he served as the Deputy Commander for the 2nd Battalion 346th Regiment Camp Shelby, MS. He is currently assigned as the Commander of the 3d Battalion 349th (IN) Logistical Support Battalion. LTC Jackson holds a Masters Degree in Accounting from Jackson State University and a BS in Accounting from Jackson State University. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College. Awards and Decorations: Meritorious Service Metal (w/Oak Leaf Cluster), Joint Service Commendation Metal, Army Commendation Medal (w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters),Army Achievement Medal (w2 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Occupation Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Parachutists Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Combat Action Badge and Expert Infantryman Badge. |
